What are classic lash extensions?

Classic lashes are individual lash extension fibres that are attached to a single natural lash, to give you that natural, barely-there mascara look!

At Lash Jungle PRO, we stock a variety of individual lash extensions, from silk classic lashes to premium ellipse flat lashes. Our lashes are perfect for creating classic sets, or can also be mixed with our premade fans or promade fans for a beautiful hybrid set.
Our classic lash extension trays come in mixed lengths (8 - 15mm), as well as individual lengths, in a variety of curls B, C and D in 0.15 or 0.20mm diameter.
Both our silk and flat lashes are made from the highest quality Korean PBT material, which creates a consistent and long-lasting curl. The foil-backed strips allow you to reattach them anywhere, without making a mess.

Although volume lashes are a huge trend right now, there are always clients who prefer the clean and natural look of classic lash extensions. That’s why we highly recommend you stock these in your lash cart, so that you can offer various lash styles for your clients to choose from.

Classic & Handmade Volume Lashes FAQs

Classic eyelash extensions involve the application of a single extension to each individual natural lash. This technique enhances the natural lashes by adding length and curl, creating a look that mimics the effect of mascara. They are ideal for clients who already have a good number of natural lashes and desire a natural, everyday look. Classic lashes are typically made from synthetic fibres like PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate), which provide a lightweight, flexible, and durable option for lash extensions.

Choose a length that is a maximum of 2-3mm longer than the client’s natural lashes for a natural look. For a more dramatic effect, slightly longer extensions can be used. Consider the natural length and strength of the client's lashes; using extensions that are too long can cause damage or premature shedding.

Popular curls include B, C, and D curls. B curls offer a slight curl, enhancing the natural look. C curls are one of the most popular choices, providing a noticeable lift that opens up the eyes. D curls offer a dramatic, eye-catching curl, perfect for clients seeking a bold look.

Diameters for classic lashes typically range from 0.10mm to 0.20mm. Thinner diameters (0.10mm-0.12mm) offer a softer, more natural look and are suitable for clients with fine natural lashes. They can also be used for short or weak lashes. Thicker diameters (0.15mm-0.20mm) provide a bolder, fuller look but should be used on clients with stronger natural lashes to avoid causing damage.

Ensure that the natural lash is clean and free of oils or makeup before application. Use a high-quality, fresh lash extension adhesive, ensuring it is appropriate for your room environment (humidity and temperature) and lashing speed. Proper isolation of each natural lash during application is critical to prevent stickies and ensure that each extension is correctly attached at the base without any gaps.

Classic lashes are cylindrical and provide a traditional, natural look. Flat lashes have a flatter base, making them much lighter in weight and easier to apply. They also have a bolder, darker appearance without adding any weight, so they are recommended for those who have weak natural lashes but want a dramatic effect.

Adjust the length, curl, and thickness of the lashes to suit the client's eye shape. For example, for almond-shaped eyes, you can use a mix of lengths to enhance the natural shape. For round eyes, longer lengths at the outer corners can help create a more elongated appearance. For hooded eyes, using a stronger curl like L or D can help lift the lashes and make the eyes appear more open.

Yes, classic lashes can be mixed with volume lashes to create a hybrid effect, offering a fuller, more textured look. Hybrid lashes combine the natural look of classic lashes with the volume and fluffiness of volume lashes, making them ideal for clients who want the best of both worlds. This technique allows for customisation and versatility, enhancing the client's natural beauty while providing added volume.

Handmade volume lashes, also called 'Russian volume,' are created by a lash artist using specific skills. You generally need extended training to use these lashes, as they allow for customised volume and density. Unlike premade volume fans, which come pre-fanned and ready to be used, handmade fans offer greater flexibility in creating bespoke looks tailored to each client's natural lashes and desired style.

Handmade volume lashes allow for a more customised application, ensuring each fan is crafted to match the client's natural lash strength and desired fullness. This customisation can lead to better retention and a more natural, cohesive look. Additionally, handmade fans can create a fuller and fluffier appearance compared to classic extensions.

Diameters for handmade volume lashes typically range from 0.03mm to 0.07mm. Thinner diameters, such as 0.03mm and 0.05mm, are ideal for creating lightweight, full or mega volume fans. These diameters ensure that the fans are light enough to prevent overburdening the natural lashes, which is crucial for maintaining the health and longevity of the client's natural lashes. For clients with stronger natural lashes, you can opt for slightly thicker diameters up to 0.07mm to achieve a more voluminous look while still maintaining a safe and comfortable application.
