Eyelash extension diameter guide

Let's talk about lash diameters!👇

Did you know that eyelash extensions come in many different thicknesses from 0.03 to 0.20mm? So, how do you know which is the best one to use? The answer is that it depends on the lash style you are wanting to create, as well as your clients’ natural lashes.

0.03: For mega volume sets (10D-14D or above)

0.03 diameter lashes are the thinnest lashes you can get. They’re so fine that we recommend you handle them really gently to prevent them from being bent or damaged. They’re best used to create mega volume sets, as they are super lightweight. In fact, 14D 0.03 lashes are lighter than one 0.15 classic lash!

0.05: For full volume sets (5D-10D)

Full and fluffy volume sets eyelash extensions

0.05mm thickness lashes are perfect to create a full volume set. They are a bit thicker than 0.03, so are easier to handle, but still very lightweight. So, feel free to use these for 5D, 8D, or 10D volume lashes. 0.05 lashes result in a very full look that is soft and fluffy at the same time.

0.07 For light volume sets (3D-6D)

Light and soft eyelash extensions volume sets

0.07 is the diameter most commonly used for creating light volume sets. Lash artists love 0.07 lashes, like 3D, 5D and 6D, as they’re very easy to use. Clients also love this diameter, because it creates a natural effect that is not too ‘out there’!

0.10: For light volume sets (3D) and classic sets (for weak or short lashes)

If you want to use 0.10 lashes for a volume set, we recommend you use it only for 2D or 3D. If you go above this, the lashes will become super heavy. When used for classic sets, 0.10 lashes are great for short and weak natural lashes (or ‘baby’ lashes).

0.15: For classic sets (for average natural lashes)

Classic eyelash extension sets

0.15 might have been the first diameter you used when you took the lash course. This diameter is great for creating a classic set. It’s not too heavy, not too fine, but just right! 0.15 lashes are definitely a must-have for every lash artist’s cart.

0.18/0.20: For classic sets (for strong or long natural lashes only)

0.18 and 0.20 lashes are only used for classic sets. Since they are quite heavy, we recommend you use them only for clients with very strong natural lashes. However, 0.20 flat lashes are 40% lighter than normal classic lashes. They weigh the same as or less than normal 0.15 lashes, so they’re great for those clients who want dramatic classic sets.

At Lash Jungle, we offer six different diameter options ranging from 0.03 to 0.20, in classic, flat, and premade/promade volume fans. That means you are guaranteed to find the right diameters for you and your clients! 😉
